French troops out of Afghanistan and Africa!

Statement Common Socialist Internationalist Group (ISG) and Jerf (Youth emigrated Reunion in France)

330 million euros for the defense budget. 3850 French soldiers now in arms against the Afghan people. 11 000 civilians have died there. 50 French soldiers, the DOM for the most part, have been killed since the conflict began. That is the record of the French presence in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, 56 000 teaching posts have been cut since 2007. Schools are closed, like hospitals and maternity homes. In the DOM-TOM, ravaged by unemployment, youth is brigaded to serve as cannon fodder to French imperialism. We will not fund the barbarism of capitalism. The money from our wages to fund our pensions, our schools and our health.

We met Sunday, December 5 at the initiative of Youth emigrated to France and Reunion Internationalist Socialist Group, call on all parties, unions and organizations which claim the labor movement to speak out clearly for the withdrawal of troops French in Afghanistan and Africa.

Editorial year-end press

Journal Zodiac would be 60 years in 2011, is tomorrow. So there 60 years born a journal without pretension, without funding, but whose sole purpose was to talk about Roman art, banal subject for most people in the villages of France, and make them aware their inheritance. There is now talk of Roman heritage.

could compare this phenomenon to that of Prosper Merimee, which has raised awareness that heritage that we deserved the save, rather than demolish it because the buildings were no longer in vogue.

And yet, where would be for the interest in Romanesque art in France if it were not Zodiac? There would certainly not have saved so many churches.

Zodiac has done a tremendous job and has largely contributed to the awareness and understanding of remote and periods if that were not considered Conventional compared with periods of antiquity.

And this monumental work, more than 400 books published with the assistance of many scholars like Raymond Oursel Durliat Marcel, Jean-Maurice Rouquette, Jacques Fontaine and Francoise Henry, to name a few, an initiative of fans gave great things that you can still see today.

But alas, the publisher no longer exists and there is no strong link between the fans and scholars around a common project which serves to both, there is more than scattered projects that have no unifying center. And yet, at the time of concreting, destruction and reconstruction in a hurry, this is the moment that there is one voice that is heard
.

is this work that we have seen born in Spain by association Amigos del Romanico which unites researchers and amateurs, but we lack in France now.

Hopefully in 2011 he can revive the spirit that was born a few years ago in France and we are so lacking now.

Merry Christmas to all,

Red Burst Surrounding Eyes

: The denier of culture to the Church of St. Sabin Villefranche-du-Queyran

is an old lady who is not exactly close to a century, but whose patience might well have irretrievably dull: a real jewel of Romanesque architecture of the eleventh and twelfth centuries, the church Saint-Sabin Villefranche-du-Queyran "spike" in Monument since 1875. And it is what the small village of 400 souls is the flattering title of country house - it always throws in a guidebook.

"A long and costly restoration"

Villefranche, its mayor in the lead, decided to give back to the house hanging on a sunny hillside. The extent of his means, of course: "Years ago it was thought to be restored, said Alain Claverie, but we knew it would be long and expensive. " It must be said that the lady is no longer any spruce: the roof is still higher than above the choir, the facade has been carefully eroded by vegetation, which is invited to the inside - "Trees began to grow. " Briefly, by far ...

The town has commissioned, under the leadership of the Chief Architect of Historic Monuments, Stephane Thouin, a study on the health condition of the building, escorted by a restoration project . Subject to € 11 000 (1), "but at least we knew where we were going," said Alain Claverie. In this case, toward a restoration project of nearly 700 000 € excluding taxes, to make Saint-Sabin a place dedicated to "fair or accommodating concerts of chamber music in the choir, with training confined to 3 or 4 musicians, "says the election.

Precisely this study will enable Saint-Sabin to set the ranks in the project "Heritage is seeking sponsors, initiated by the General Council and the prefecture, with the assistance of the Heritage Foundation and the Aquitaine region. And among the 82 sites or objects presented throughout the department, Saint-Sabin will be found eventually, last September, in the "top five" of successful projects, alongside the park of Virazeil or hamlet of St. Avitus, Lacapelle-Biron. The work, which will decompose into 4 slices, could start in 2012, expected a resurrection on the horizon ... 2017. A straw for an old lady of eight centuries.

(1) With the financial support of the / State, General Council and the community of communes of Val de Garonne.

Among the five flagship projects of the operation "Heritage is seeking sponsors," the rehabilitation of the Church of Villefranche-du-Queyran could start in 2012.

Soon an association of friends of Santa Sabina

The mayor of Villefranche-du-Queyran, Alain Claverie, is cautious when talking about the part that will be borne by the municipality in the final invoice for the restoration the church of Saint-Sabin: "We hope not to have to pay more than 5% or 10%, benefiting from the maximum aid," he says. Still, this is not the town that will drive the destiny of the place, but an association which should come by in February 2011. "A meeting will be held Jan. 20 to establish, in the presence of Chloe Toupé, representing the Heritage Foundation in the department, "says Alain Claverie. The newcomer has a good chance of being called "The Friends of Saint-Sabin." A structure that could sweep well beyond the sole inhabitants of Villefranche-du-Queyran: "It is a matter which concerns all the Marmande," says the mayor, who discusses the impact on heritage tourism, a niche that has the wind in their sails. For the moment, only a few insiders are taking advantage of Romanesque splendors of the building.

Book: The Romanesque of Burgundy

The Romanesque of Burgundy - themes and programs, by Marcello Angheben, 560 pages, Brepols Publishers, Turnhout, Belgium.

The doctoral thesis of Marcello Angheben - Lecturer in Art History at the University of Poitiers - was sustained in 1998 and expanded edition of the book was published in 2003. But the dates do not matter when a company such an interest.

Angheben Marcello invites us to follow him in the churches of Burgundy, not to carry out simple surveys, but to try to understand the intentions which led to the choice of themes for capitals. He managed to guide us with great erudition never tire the reader by an austere style, quite the contrary: it feels to read the same pleasure with Emile Male, Marcel Durliat, Jacques Fontaine, Jean-Maurice Rouquette, well others.

Marcello Angheben method is of great interest. He proposes to study the Romanesque Burgundy
referring to the representations made by themselves
(indications Graphic) - by linking them with the medieval texts he quotes extensively - but also from the point of view of syntax. And it is this latter methodology, little used to this thesis as regards the Roman capitals, which complement the previous, is the originality of his research and gives it an undeniable heuristic.

The syntax is designed as "the relationship between the theme and context in which it is built
. Should therefore pay attention instead of the theme in the building: near the entrance to the choir, in the ambulatory on the north side or south side, etc.. We must also consider "the environment iconographic an image. " Thus, in buildings where the theme of Daniel in the lions is associated with antithetic themes (images of torture, lust, etc..), It does not mean the same as where it is associated with other paradigms of spiritual warfare, such as Samson or David. And when these capitals are close to the altar, the representation of Habakkuk bringing bread to Daniel adds a Eucharistic dimension to the scene.

In the first part, Marcello Angheben, considering the church as a symbolic space, analyzes the themes found on the capitals of the choir. In this place reserved
clergy, we find images related to the idea of Paradise, Heavenly Jerusalem, but also the various representations
quaternities: author, based on its extensive knowledge of the texts, emphasizes the importance of the number four in the medieval symbolism. Themes are also analyzed pairs, Atlantis, angels, lions facing each other, eagles, Supper at Emmaus, the Kiss on the mouth, the release of St Peter.

In a second part, the most important, Mr. Angheben examines the design of the building medieval church as a place for a fight physical and spiritual. Here we encounter the capitals which are represented the threats posed by the attacks of evil
multifaceted and struggles against them: angels against demons, angels defenders souls, Samson, David, Daniel in the lions' den, Jonah, of men fighting monsters, fighting warriors, virtue triumphing over vice, fighting monks and hermits against the temptations (St. Benedict, St. Anthony, etc.).

In the last chapter of this part, the author examines the capitals which are represented
assault forces of evil without their face a "champion" of the property:
attacking animals or devils men, centaurs arrowhead, cockfighting, and also the strange fights Pilosi cons of three-headed birds. [The pilosus is a kind of hybrid warrior, wearing a kilt, wearing a helmet, carrying a shield and whose members are sometimes less than those of a man, sometimes those of an animal]. These capitals are mostly in the western part of the church, or in the peripheral space of the ambulatory and not in the choir.

The third part of the book consists of case studies to distinguish the churches in which significant associations with capitals are numerous enough that we can
speak of a true iconographic program.

The documentation is very rich: 151 photos, 43 drawings and an extensive bibliography.

This book, intended primarily for researchers, will also close the expectations of all lovers of Romanesque art. Hopefully, the method followed by Marcello Angheben, so clearly exposed, and if successful to understand the mentality that led to the choice of Graphic medieval clerics in Burgundy or adapted to other regions rich in capitals, as Auvergne Upper Poitou, etc.. When the two looking for a master, the wisest course is to explore the possibilities of design, and not be misled into fruitless ventures by confusing the difference with the cult of the authentic and rare originality. Marcello
Angheben seems to be such a master that we hope many students will follow the lesson.

Moissac. We can again admire the eardrum

few days ago, workers have turned to the abbey to dismantle the scaffolding installed at the gate novel in nearly three weeks. A time that may have seemed long for lovers of Romanesque art come to see the eardrum. Yet at the tourist office, any temper tantrums visitors do not make themselves felt. "We have no registered complaints particular, it says at the reception. People have been rather sympathetic about the need for such scaffolding. "Small consolation, they will still be able to find a picture of the eardrum in one room in the tourist office.

And now?

To understand the purpose of the expertise of the eardrum, it goes back to 1982. To date, work had been done to restore the original level of the court, by lowering the position of a meter. This was then allowed to treat the walls against rising damp along the wall. In 2000, a first evaluation was then performed to measure the impact of 1982 work on the preservation of the eardrum, giving quite good results (see box below).

This new expertise in October 2010 was therefore to determine the course of the degradation of the gate novel in ten years, through comparison of shots and altered. These results will be known within weeks. If the state of the portal is unchanged, the case will remain there. However, according to the mayor, "if there is a progression of damage, this will surely lead to a range of other expertise to make a diagnosis of the causes of deterioration and solutions to, and, where appropriate, the necessary work. " A scenario in which residents and tourists would have to get used to the presence of metal structures in front of their beloved Abbey.

"The recommendations will be acted upon"

In an AFP report, Veronique Verges-Belmin, expert laboratory research of historical monuments which has made the diagnosis of portal this month, the situation is serious. It was she who had already established the diagnosis in 2000, adding that the heavy work undertaken in the 1980s had "saved the portal," but not stop the hurt. The report stated that the gate was "in a state of conservation concern." However, "no conservation action has been conducted on this portal" since the 1980s. Unfortunately, this document was then dropped into oblivion. But this time, city and state have decided not to "let fall the blow." "The new recommendations would be acted upon," Shoot certify Roland, director of cultural affairs.

Restore or not?

If necessary, the municipality has the support of the region, county and state who must "lead by example" by Roland shoot, because the city alone could not provide such site. "That's the big difference between a rich heritage that transcends us almost monumental, and small means in a rural area with few economic opportunities," he says.

Here, the pollution is not an issue. The abbey suffered from the building, close to the cloister, the line of railroad in the nineteenth century. The site has insidiously changed the flow of groundwater. The water is rising by capillary action and severely damaged the stone.

Like many others, he sees the tympanum of Moissac, near Christ's return at the end of time, an allegory of the disengagement of the State for Cultural Affairs.

Paillarse For Dominique, director of cultural affairs in the Midi-Pyrenees, "the state is already taking its role. The laboratory research of historical monuments is so graciously intervened. As for the financing of restoration, it is too early for the government to take any commitments. But we are extremely careful because this is an exceptional heritage. "

Retirement silent ... why?

Jac moved to Leela Rica (Costa Rica) see all the information in English here
It however, will be with us for one week retirement of 21 to 28 May 2011 to be held in Pégomas (between Cannes and Grasse) pdf of the event to download here

Here are two excerpts chosen a recent interview:

The silent retreat?

Yes, there will always be a preference for silence, because that is where most things can be seen, once there is a certain maturity in the way the participant once he ... is this ability to observe, take responsibility, knowing that nothing is real phenomenal ... When this point has been reached, then silence is the best guide.

Of course, since then it yal'espace that "you're not" appears and everything is seen for what it is: just another thought ... even the idea of grace ... Grace herself itself is a thought and construction of the mind to bring some relief, a phenomenal world peace ... Even that has to go ... so things like this will show ... all the refinements that the mind can construct for you back in the illusion of the phenomenal world ... It can be seen in the silence.

So when this space is created, so we sit in this space, and forget all these words speak for him of course, but at some point, it becomes obsolete, have the wisdom to see: Oh, the mind is trying to build something for what to talk about, to continue the show, another distraction, just to rebuild ...

A wisdom and differentiates appear when talking can help to deconstruct systems of thought when speaking just rebuild the system thought to present a new distraction ...
***

In the end, everything must be dropped, absolutely everything, and one that must also be dropped loose ... it goes away when there are no reference points ... So let go, let go, let go, until 'that there is no point of reference ... lose ... because there is nothing, nothing! and this is not the idea of nothing ...

Why Do You Like Kristin Cavillari

Communiqué Jerf (Young emigrated Reunion in France) 24,
May 2010, Paris

Living and working in the country!

Because Eva, Eli Zélindor, Mafat, Ansina, Marianne, slaves-Bitas the moaners picks, work commitments forced us truly leave a country to live and can travailler.Nos ancestors had be no act of ownership for this land but they are the ones who built this country with their sweat in the cane fields, their blood being born free, their tears, their hopes, their revolts.

There is a clear political will of the Meeting of its strengths, its youth to prevent riots and to exploit the power of youth work Reunion for the benefit of métropole.Voilà that advocated the OECD report of 2004 on the Meeting for 2010: "In the context of this aging of the metropolitan population, Reunion could provide a labor supply of work ".
This report highlights a positive net migration: there are more entries than exits at the meeting. In fact, net migration is negative and Reunion: The Reunion leave and never come back. But the surplus is metropolitan entries: they are more than 80 000.

A question remains is the involvement Meeting of the unions, especially in the national education policy. Why not join the other teachers?
There is a fundamental problem to raise unemployment or exile is the conclusion. But no party, no political organization, including the NPA at the meeting gives us opportunities outside the assistantship-chabouk France. That's why CGTR does not call for the unemployed to join the movement.

Today, they are trained and skilled youth from being done. The country is deprived of the knowledge and know-how.
is in this sense that brings the Jerf support for the collective teacher 974.

Hard Lump On Neck Fatigue

For a working unit (Article published in The Internationalist No. 100)

For a unit ouvrièrede France to Reunion
While in metropolis the government passed the attacks, the class struggle sharpens in the settlements. The meeting, a strategic challenge to imperialism in the Indian Ocean. The Discussion Jerf with three activists who are fighting for new opportunities for workers to organize Reunion.
What the Jerf?
Jerf means "Young Emigrants Reunion in France". We preferred the term "emigrant" than that of an expatriate or exiled. We know that this term does not like in general, including in activist circles. Yet when we arrive in France, we know the same problems as all other immigrants, even the undocumented. In truth, we do not feel similar to any metropolis. When we arrive in France, there is nobody to help us or greet us. Jerf composition is diverse, including students, unemployed workers ... Sometimes battered women who flee their husbands in France. But Jerf is not an association, our goal is to organize people politically.
You should know that there is a very strong propaganda led by MEDEF local incentives to move to the Reunion "metropolis .
What are your goals?
We fight for self-determination of peoples and the establishment of a socialist state, so that people can really know what it is socialism. Even though today, people believe that it is "disgusting," we are fighting for are better than wealth redistribution, and that this is not just "big white" who benefit. Finally Jerf principles, it is self-organization, internationalism, anti-colonial struggles and unity. It should open a sort of international front, because the force of imperialism, is that there is no unity in all the colonies. We should do that from here. One goal of Jerf is also "radicalize" the Reunion who live here, that is to say, the anti-colonial awareness on the issue.
The precarious and "mobility" that it is difficult for us to organize ourselves. Also today, many students who came to study "can afford". All these are problems for meetings to organize. Because of our isolation, we found clear slogans and demands of our organization, while remaining vague about its very nature.
Where is the class struggle currently meeting?
In recent years, the meeting follows the advice of the OECD and sends more students to train and develop future managers meeting. Marie-Luce Penchard has already prepared the lines of "development": buildings / restaurants / tourism. Working conditions, and life has deteriorated. The unemployment rate reached 37.6%, an estimated 100 to 120 000 illiterate adults and 400 000 people benefiting from CMU. In addition the region is increasingly militarized accentuating the already existing tensions. You should know that the first ten soldiers 'French' died in Afghanistan, 3 were meetings (including a young man barely 19 years) and a Maori, that is to say, a native of Mayotte.

Support teacher zinfos 974 of 974

associations come together to Paris for "teachers deported"
Yesterday, various associations, including the Jerf (Young Emigrants Reunion in France), gathered in Paris to show their support for the collective Prof974.

Organized in emergency situations, to "mark the spot," the event held yesterday, up from Reunion Island to Paris, did not attract the crowds. Initiated by the Jerf, the event nonetheless rallied to her cause representatives of the Movement of Expatriates Reunion (MRE), the CNT-STE92, and the Student Union and Ethical Unit (ONLY).

Sebastian CNT-STE92
gathered to support the collective Prof974, associations calling including the creation of 30 posts for "30 teachers deported. Claim to justify recalling the figures of illiteracy in their view concern that 130,000 people in Reunion. "They say there are no positions vacant at the meeting. So why name the teachers in the academies of Paris region that are surplus?" Asks Sebastian CNT-STE92. Loïc, a member of ONE, a union Metropolitan think trainee teachers struggle Reunion is "legitimate": "money there for the military budget, for example. We need that money back into education."

Alex Movement Reunion
Expatriates In protest, the activists have exposed a strong message. "Ridge offset anou. Travay if Viv e nout tér" could be read as one of their banners. Alex, a member of the MRE, qualifies the term "deportation": "it is true that the term might appear at first sight incongruous. The fact is that we do not take back the literal meaning of deportation. This is an image-shock must pass through attitudes. It is the spirit of the deportation and no one wants to repeat the word as such ". Loïc To the contrary, the term is appropriate in the sense that" they are forced transfers ".

Loïc Student Union Unitarian Lay
and Emmanuel and Jean-Pierre, mechanical engineering professors, are delighted that the collective Prof974 make its voice heard. They are present in solidarity and as a reminder that they exist. They show: "It is 7 years that some of us sitting there. Every time it's the same thing, we are denied the mutation on Reunion. This year it would free 11 posts are occupied by contractors. "They have only one requirement if the action of the movement led" consideration should be given schedules.
mobilization of the collective has lasted two months now. Before the arrival of Marie-Luce Penchard, its members had occupied the Hotel de Region for several weeks.
