Foundation Mapfre benefits of the redevelopment of the MNAC to come to Madrid EMPLOYING leaders of Roman art that are normally part of the Museum's collection. The Romanesque period dominated the religious conception and art of the eleventh and twelfth centuries, marked by the development of trade routes that promoted the dissemination of ideas in Europe. The church and its assets were key elements in these roads used by pilgrims to travel to Santiago and Jerusalem.
"The splendor of Roman art" brings together more than fifty EMPLOYING from the temples of the period, which represented the themes and techniques of this period. The exhibition is divided into five sections, namely: the mural, stone carving, painting on easel woodcarving, and jewelry and enamels.
Among EMPLOYING exposed to stress are "Stoning of St. Stephen, a major wall painting dating from 1100 and found in the church of San Juan de Boi of Ribargorza, in Lleida, or wood carving known as the "Majestat Batllóm" half of the twelfth century, from Girona.
