Poitou-Charentes: An upcoming survey of Romanesque


Heritage Inventory novel in Poitou-Charentes is the first operation undertaken by thematic Region, as part of an ambitious program conducted in collaboration with the University of Poitiers and Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs (DRAC).

Following a first step in Civraisien Country, and made a first inventory on the district of Cognac in the 80, Jerome Sou risseau, president of the Union of Country West Charente, and his office have sought to continue and refine the inventory, by inviting the mayors and elected officials of having on its territory a remnant novel (church, abbey, motte) at a briefing at Bourg-Charente.

Fabrice Bonnifait Christine Sarrazin, Veronique Dujardin, cultural leaders responsible for this inventory, Joelle Averlan, elected regional culture committee, and Jerome Sourisseau, facilitated the meeting.

Forty-six monuments novels have been identified in the Country. From the data collected, new exhibitions will be open to the public, particularly through the site inventory (1). A process is also underway to try to recognize the Cognac vineyards, "Heritage of Unesco. A survey on this topic should begin soon.
